Confusing?...........i'll give an example: Say if person A loves riding a bike and person B loves it too but Person A rides his bike constantly while Person B chooses to take his time with it doing it at his own leisure and person A wonders why he's not as committed as himself into bike riding.
I guess the point that i'm making is that sometimes people need to go at their own pace when it comes to things. Just because a person is heavly into something and the other person is taking their time with it dosen't make them any less motivated..........a little lazy maybe but not less motivated. Sometimes with DA it kinda feels like you have to constantly pump out work all the time to get a gazillion page views which is fine to try to expose yourself, but alot of times it feels more like a populartity contest than anything else. I guess a lot of different things factor into it from a person's confidence in their work to show it, to just doing it for the sake of saying I got 100 thousand pageviews. You should draw just for the love of drawing and not cause you want to be popular (which isn't a bad thing at first unless that's the only reason you want to do it). I guess i'm just ranting cause I get irritated that artists just give up cause they're not being noticed enough while ironically those who do get noticed and make somewhat of a career out of drawing say that they suck which goes back to the whole idea of not being popular enough or just general low self esteem. I mean I feel that way too sometimes to just constantly do work which is what I do more or less but I want my work to get to a certain point before I decide to necessarily show it off. If you draw something you don't like, why the hell would you want to show it to other people. I understand getting your name noticed and all but why put out work you're not confident in when you could just take time to practice and get better. Go by your own standards of your work and not always what other people think your work should be. There never is a right or wrong with art, that's why it's called art. I dunno, maybe i'm wrong. I am ranting a little but that's cause the thought popped in my head while I was online. Well anyway, love art and strive to be better, but by your own standards.
Blah, blah, blah..............
Devious Comments
I don't know how many times I've been "called out" as if I don't have a deep appreciation for art and animation, Or that my artwork will never compare to theirs because I'm obviously slacking in my skills and am doing nothing short of a lackluster job, Or that if I'm not on the same page with their opinions on the latest Disney/ Pixar flick that in my opinion SUCKS! then I'm not worthy to be in their presence. If these so called "super-artists" had any clue as to what really goes on behind the scenes, I think they'd eat their words. But that's not at all the reason I create art, It's not to gain popularity, sometimes it's therapeutic to draw or paint or create something in 3D, Other times it's just a really kick-ass idea that has to be jotted down before it slips into the realm of forgotten memories. Most if not all of my stuff that I create sits on the "Back-Burner" so to speak because I don't want my ideas/artworks stolen by those that refuse to be original. (insert various "cecil" here).
I think that I work just as hard as those that feel the need to boost their Ego by going around "flaunting" their artworks just for popularity's sake. Some may call it jealousy, (which couldn't be farther from the truth),yet others call it major procrastination. The point is, Just because I don't crank out fifty some-odd drawings in a week doesn't make me an artist that sits on his ass. I like to be really methodical with my artworks. I see it this way, if my drawings/artworks don't mean something to me then there was no point in creating them. My art has to "sing" to me. It has to have a part of me attached. So I don't show my drawings to people, that doesn't make me a slacker. So I don't go parading my artworks around looking for everyone to say "Oooh that's awesome!" Who cares how many drawings you have! it doesn't mean you're King-Shit! I, unlike these self proclaimed "super-artists" live by the philosophy of QUALITY NOT QUANTITY! and as far as I'm concerned, thats all that EVER mattered.

Many People Take The Same Route...Few Choose Their Own.
I for one find it funny that people in general talk shit too or about you, because you're not into the things they are. In this case ART, because it only shows how insecure they are about their work or they wish they could draw like you, and want you on their level so that they feel better about them-selves and NO, there is no wrigt or wrong about ART, if there where, then it would'nt be considered as such.
So to all of these "SUPER-ARTIST" (you know who you are) or anyone that wants you to follow in their single file line, because it's not cool if you don't. I'd just say, "F*ck off" and keep doing your thing.
